Steelers Lose Three Safeties Against Colts

The Pittsburgh Steelers defensive backs room is thin after its third injury.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers defense continues to get hit by injuries, losing another defensive back in Trenton Thompson, who left in the third quarter of Week 15 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Thompson stayed down after making a tackle on Colts running back Tyler Goodson. He was stiff-armed by Goodson on the play and fell hard on the turf on the sideline. After being evaluated on the field, the training staff took him to the medical tent.

The Steelers have now lost three safeties against the Colts. Minkah Fitzpatrick suffered a knee injury in the first half of the game, and Damontae Kazee was ejected for a hit on Michael Pittman Jr. The team is now down to Miles Killebrew as their only active safety.

Cornerbacks Patrick Peterson and Levi Wallace will likely step into the role without Thompson on the field.

All Steelers will continue to provide updates as more information on Thompson's injury becomes available.

UPDATE: The team has announced Thompson suffered a stinger as is questionable to return to the game.
