PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have continued to express their interest in resigning quarterback Mason Rudolph this offseason, but the veteran passer has reportedly expressed interest in a "fresh start," seemingly looking to head elsewhere in free agency.

NFL Network insiders Tom Pelissero, Ian Rapoport, and Mike Garafolo recently wrote Rudolph has his sights on something new in 2024.

"Rudolph, who will be a free agent next month, has indicated he’s interested in a fresh start after six seasons with the team that drafted him in the third round in 2018," NFL Network.

Rudolph, 28, went 3-1 as the starter at the end of the season after taking over for an injured Kenny Pickett. He's 8-4-1 as a starter in the NFL.

Both head coach Mike Tomlin and President Art Rooney II have expressed the team's desire to re-sign him. However, both have mentioned multiple times they understand he's a free agent and, therefore, it's uncertain if they'll be able to keep him.

If Rudolph does head elsewhere, the Steelers will look for competition for Kenny Pickett, likely bringing in a veteran through free agency.
