Steelers DB Suffers Chest Injury vs. Browns

The Pittsburgh Steelers defense loses another star.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered another massive blow to their defense as safety Minkah Fitzpatrick left in the second half of Week 2 with a chest injury.

Fitzpatrick was originally dinged up during a hit with Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb in the second quarter. After colliding at the goal line, which ended Chubb's day and possibly season, Fitzpatrick remained down for a moment. He eventually got up and went back into the game moments later.

Then, in the third quarter, Fitzpatrick left after a long run by Browns running back Jerome Ford. He was looked at by trainers before heading to the tunnel for further evaluation.

Pittsburgh's defense is already without defensive captain Cam Heyward, who was placed on Injured Reserve with a groin injury.

Without Fitzpatrick, the Steelers will rely on Damontae Kazee and Keanu Neal at safety, with Miles Killebrew and Elijah Riley as options off the bench.

Currently, Fitzpatrick is questionable to return. All Steelers will continue to provide updates to his status.

UPDATE: Fitzpatrick has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
