Trade Coming? Chase Claypool Makes Shocking Confession After Bears Loss

The Chicago Bears may be ready to move on from the former Pittsburgh Steelers receiver.

PITTSBURGH -- The Chicago Bears are giving former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool one more chance, but if his effort doesn't increase, he's being "shipped out," according to Fox Sports Jay Glazer.

Glazer reported that the Bears told the former Steelers' draft pick that if he continues to play with the same lackluster effort he gave in Week 1, they're moving on. In Week 2, he finished the game with three receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown, but it's unknown if he impressed enough to change Chicago's mind.

After the game, Claypool had fans stunned again after he admitted he wasn't playing his best in the season opener, and that, at times, he didn't know the play call.

"Sometimes ten guys are doing a good job, and one person isn't. Like me, I think it's a run play, and it's a screen. That's my fault," Claypool said after the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Claypool finished Week 1 with no catches, so the improvement on the stat sheet was there. But with reports coming throughout the summer that the Bears were worried about his effort, and then Claypool admitting he still doesn't know the playbook, it's up in the air whether his time in Chicago lasts another week.
