Browns Rookie Dawand Jones Calls Out Steelers LB T.J. Watt's Flaw

The Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher will be the rookie's first starting matchup.

PITTSBURGH -- T.J. Watt is coming off a three-sack performance in the Pittsburgh Steelers season opener against the San Francisco 49ers. While it's always tough to replicate a monster game, the edge rusher will face a rookie when the Cleveland Browns come to town, which, on paper, feels like another easy matchup.

That rookie is former Ohio State star Dawand Jones, who's impressed since joining Cleveland this spring. And this week, as he makes his first NFL start following the injury to Jack Conklin, he'll match up with Watt.

Jones was asked about the matchup this week, and while he did praise Watt, he mentioned one flaw the former Defensive Player of the Year has in his game.

"He kind of leaves his chest open a little bit during the pass game," Jones said. "Using that. There are other things to it. Making sure I get back. He’s a great player."

Jones stands 6'8" with 36.5-inch arms, and when it comes to beating Watt, he has to use every inch of his length.

"He has a motor of like of nonstop moves," Jones said. "My major thing is – I need to limit him to some of them, use my length and my strength to by best ability."

Jones will get his first taste of what is likely a long rivalry with Watt on the right side. We'll see if his tricks to beat him work out.
