PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are without wide receiver Diontae Johnson for the next few weeks and will rely on practice squad wideout Dez Fitzpatrick to add depth to the position.

The team announced they have promoted Fitzpatrick to the active roster while also placing defensive tackle Cam Heyward on Injured Reserve, shutting him down for a minimum of four games.

They also swapped out two practice squad players, releasing Anthony Brown and Josiah Scott and adding Luq Barcoo and Greg Bell.

Fitzpatrick joined the Steelers during the summer, playing with the team throughout training camp and the preseason. He was part of the team's final roster cuts before being signed back to the practice squad.

He's played five games in his career, all for the Tennessee Titans, catching five passes for 49 yards and a touchdown.

Johnson is expected to miss four weeks before returning. The Steelers have yet to decide if they'll place him on Injured Reserve.
