Steelers’ Minkah Fitzpatrick Returns to Practice

The Pittsburgh Steelers get their star safety back at training camp.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is back on the practice field after missing the first week of training camp due to personal reasons.

Fitzpatrick was excused by head coach Mike Tomlin for the opening week of camp. He was present during the first three days but was just not participating. He was then absent from the field for the second week.

The Steelers are banged up at safety with Damontae Kazee out with an ankle injury and Keanu Neal missing time with an undisclosed injury. Before Fitzpatrick’s return, the team was down to Kenny Robinson, Tre Norwood, Miles Killebrew and Trenton Thompson as their available options.

Robinson and Norwood will likely continue to get first-team reps as they compete for a roster spot, even with Fitzpatrick’s return to the field.
