Steelers Release Punter Brad Wing

After two starts, the Pittsburgh Steelers have parted ways with Brad Wing.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have released punter Brad Wing from their practice squad, along with fullback Zander Horvath. They also signed fullback Jack Colletto.

Wing was signed to the practice squad following a hamstring injury to Pressley Harvin III. Wing punted the last two weeks for the Steelers, averaging 45 yards per punt and landing three of his 11 attempts inside the 20-yard line.

The 32-year-old re-joined the NFL after last kicking in 2017. His career first started in Pittsburgh back in 2014.

The release of Wing is likely a sign Harvin is on his way back to full health and could return to action following the bye week. Harvin did not practice the last two weeks but will now get another week to recover and will be four weeks removed from the injury if he's to play in Week 7.

Wing will head back to free agency where he could be considered a candidate for a number of teams after a strong showing in Pittsburgh.
