PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing back one of their own, re-signing defensive tackle Montravius Adams to a two-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Adams, 28, has spent the last two and a half seasons with the Steelers, joining the team during the 2021 campaign after being signed off of the New Orleans Saints practice squad. He's since become a key contributor to the defense, starting 21 of his 35 games played for Pittsburgh.

Adams returns to the team as a nose tackle option with plenty of experience. The pass-rusher currently holds 109 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and seven passes defensed on his stat sheet.

Adams is capable of playing the middle of the line, allowing second-year tackle Keeanu Benton to move to both defensive tackle spots. The two will likely work as the one-two punch at nose tackle like they did last season, with Benton also contributing behind Cam Heyward and Larry Ogunjobi.
