Russell Wilson Reveals Steelers Jersey Number

Russell Wilson got a look at the jersey he'll wear for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The newest addition to the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback room has his new jersey and he showed it off for the world to see on Twitter.

And while it might be some new threads and new colors for Wilson as he makes the move from the Denver Broncos to the Steelers, it won't be a new jersey number. Wilson has worn 3 for his entire career, dating back to his days with the Seattle Seahawks, and it doesn’t appear that will change now.

Wilson will be just the 12th player in Steelers history to wear the No. 3 on his jersey, with the most recent being backup punter Brad Wing, who spent just a few weeks with the team during the 2023 season.

No one has worn the No. 3 for the Steelers for more than two seasons since Jeff Reed, a two-time Super Bowl champion kicker, spent the better part of eight seasons in it while connecting on 82% of his field goals and 99% of his extra points.

Of the many Steelers players who wore the No. 3 during their time in Pittsburgh, Wilson is certainly the most notable and his arrival coudl signal the beginning of something big for this franchise.
