PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have spent this week devoid of practices tying up some loose ends, which meant signing some of their top rookies to their first NFL contracts.

After inking second round defensive tackle Keeanu Benton to his deal earlier in the day, the Steelers locked down first round pick Broderick Jones, the future at left tackle for this franchise, per a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Jones' contract is worth $16,626,364 over four years, including a $9,091,900 signing bonus. He will count for $3,022,975 against the salary cap in 2023.

The Steelers traded up with the New England Patriots to leapfrog the New York Jets, who were also seeking a franchise left tackle in the first round, and took one of, if not the premier player at his position in this draft.

Jones, a 6'4 and 315-pound rookie, spent three years at Georgia before exiting school for the NFL Draft following his lone year as a starter. He helped anchor a Bulldogs offensive line that rolled to an undefeated season and second consecutive national championship.

Now just one Steelers rookie - cornerback Joey Porter Jr., who was selected with the 32nd overall pick in the second round - remains unsigned.
