PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have filled one of their final two roster spots, signing wide receiver Cody Chrest, the team announced.

Chrest is another undrafted rookie as they end the first week of OTAs. Chrest, who played at Sam Houston State, originally signed with the Indianapolis Colts after the 2023 NFL Draft.

In 31 games for Sam Houston, Chrest recorded 131 receptions for 1,715 yards and nine touchdowns. He caught 36 passes for 548 yards and two touchdowns last season. He was a two-time All-WAC selection.

Chrest will compete with a number of wide receivers looking for one of the final roster spots in Pittsburgh. With Diontae Johnson, George Pickens, Allen Robinson and Calvin Austin III likely claiming four places on the depth chart, Chrest will try to beat out Miles Boykin, Gunner Olszewski and others for the fifth and sixth spots.

Pittsburgh now has one spot left on their 90-man roster, after recently signing outside linebacker Markus Golden as well.
