Steelers Sign Former Michigan CB
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have added to their cornerback room, signing former Michigan Wolverine and XFL standout Lavert Hill, the team announced.
Hill played for the Battlehawks this spring and has bounced around the NFL, playing for five teams in a span of three seasons. Originally signing with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent, Hill has spent time with the Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns.
He's never played a regular season game, but has recorded 10 tackles and a quarterback hurry in the preseason.
The Steelers also announced they have waived/injured Duke Dawson, and waived Isaiah Dunn. Dawson went down with a knee injury during the team's preseason opener and is going to miss the season because of it. The release of Dunn leaves the team with an extra roster spot heading into their final week of practice.
