Steelers Submit Bid to Host NFL Draft

The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping to land the NFL Draft in the next few years.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers had league personnel in the building to visit for consideration of hosting the 2026 NFL Draft, according to 93.7 The Fan. Now, reported by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac, the team has officially submitted a bid to host either the 2026 or 2027 draft in Pittsburgh.

The NFL is set to host the 2024 draft in Detroit, with the 2025 draft heading to Wisconsin. Since the league started moving the NFL Draft from city to city, Pittsburgh has never hosted it, with the closest teams to do so being the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles.

"The Steelers and city of Pittsburgh have submitted an official request to the NFL of their desire to host the three-day NFL Draft in either 2026 or 2027 - an even that would have a significant economic impact on the city and businesses in the surrounding area," Dulac writes.

According to Dulac, the draft would be held somewhere along the North Shore but would not take place at Acrisure Stadium. With PNC Park, a concert venue and plenty of restaurants and bars - and, of course, the bridges right there - the location makes plenty of sense for Pittsburgh.

The league is set to announce the 2026 NFL Draft location in May, giving the Steelers a seven-month wait to find out if they won the bid.
