Report: Kenny Pickett Ready to Return to Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers now have questions at quarterback.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will get Kenny Pickett back this week, making things a bit more complicated, but adding to their options at quarterback for Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Pickett is set to return to the team this week after missing the last three games with a high ankle sprain. He underwent surgery after the initial injury and returned to practice last week but was ruled out for the game. He's now expected to be ready to play against the Seahawks.

The Steelers will have a decision to make after Mason Rudolph threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Pittsburgh's offense put their best performance of the year together with Rudolph at quarterback, and since then, almost everyone has made the case to keep him as the starter moving forward.

Rudolph is 6-4-1 as a starter for Pittsburgh. Week 16 was his first start since 2021.

The Steelers will have three days of practice before traveling to Seattle this upcoming weekend. They'll likely let both Rudolph and Pickett take reps with the starters, but who actually gets the call in Week 17 remains a mystery.

For now, they're likely just happy to have options.
