Snapping Issues Not Bothering Steelers OC

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Eddie Faulkner stood by his struggling center.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- Mason Cole's last two games have not been some of his best work, as errant snaps combined with missed blocks to create some concern about the Pittsburgh Steelers' center situation.

But Steelers offensive coordinator Eddie Faulkner doesn't have those same concerns and is a long way from hitting the panic button on Cole, who he thinks has played well this season. He sees this as just a bump in the road that his coaches will help him work through.

“Like most things, you got to be careful with how you’re addressing," Faulkner said. "Mason’s been solid. You hit stretches where things are been going as great and then the coaches detail it up and work on it and take the approach as best they can in order to get those things better and then we move on."

Faulkner added that he's trying not to make a huge deal out of a handful of missed snaps from Cole. He wants his center to keep his confidence up so that the routine things - like delivering a clean shotgun snap to the quarterback - doesn't become bigger than it is.

"We don’t want to make too much of an emphasis or too much of a worry on it because we just expect him to do his job," Faulkner. "That’s a routine thing.”
