PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are continuing their search for assistant coaches, bringing in three more names for open positions. According to league sources, the team is set to interview Matt Baker, Mateo Kambui and Phil Matusz for multiple positions.

Baker brings a connection with the Steelers' new offensive coordinator, Arthur Smith, working as the Atlanta Falcons' special teams assistant this past season. Prior to Atlanta, he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at John Carroll University after starting his coaching career as a grad assistant at Ole Miss in 2010 and then taking on his next gig nine years later as an analyst and QB coach for Western Michigan in 2019.

The North Carolina alum also played in the NFL from 2006 to 2009 as a quarterback, spending his final two seasons on the Buffalo Bills.

Kambui also comes from Atlanta, working as their assistant offensive line coach in 2023. Prior to his time with Smith and the Falcons, he was with the Denver Broncos as part of the Marlin Briscoe Coaching Fellowship (2021-2022). He helped with scouting and coaching the wide receivers.

Matusz is the head strength and conditioning coach at Boston College. The Steelers parted ways with both of their strength and conditioning coaches and have been talking with a few candidates for the openings.

He's been with Boston College for four years. Prior to helping the Eagles develop top NFL Draft talent such as Zion Johnson and Zay Flowers, he spent six seasons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Ohio State.

So far, the Steelers have interviewed six candidates for roles on their coaching staff. Outside of Baker, Kambui and Matusz, Pittsburgh has met/or plans to meet with Los Angeles Chargers passing game specialist Tom Arth, Tennessee Titans quarterbacks coach Charles London and New York Jets wide receivers coach Zach Azzani.
