Texans Week 1: Ravens Star OUT with Injury
Nobody wants to see injuries occur, not even to an opponent. At the same time, the Houston Texans might need every break they can get in the Week 1 NFL season-opener against the Baltimore Ravens ...
And they just got one, as corner Marlon Humphrey will likely be out for a month and miss the start of the regular season after suffering a foot injury in practice. According to reports, the injury may require a "medical procedure" to repair, extending the recovery and return time even more.
The Ravens have a stellar defense and Humphrey is a key part of it. Humphrey, 27, started all 17 games for the Ravens a season ago and was the first-round draft pick in 2017 by Baltimore. In six NFL seasons in Charm City, the Crimson Tide alum has registered 347 tackles - 281 solo and 15 for loss - 13 forced fumbles and 12 interceptions in 90 career games.
Likely first-team QB C.J. Stroud and the Texans will obviously still have their hands full here. But without Humphrey - who was elected to the Pro Bowl three times, in 2019, 2020, and 2022, while being named first-team All-Pro in 2019 - the Ravens defense, unfortunately for them, just got a little bit more vulnerable.
