The Houston Texans continue to put the pieces together during what has been a busy early part of the offseason.

And on Friday, this trend continued, as the team announced the official signing of former Pittsburgh Steelers receiver/returner Steven Sims.

The terms of the deal have not yet been revealed.

Sims, a native of Houston who went undrafted out of Kansas in 2019, signed with Washington as an undrafted free agent.

Sims proved to be somewhat of a rookie sensation considering his pre-draft circumstances, as he finished that 2019 season with 34 catches for 310 yards and four touchdowns. He also added nine carries for 85 yards and a touchdown while returning 32 kickoffs for 819 yards and another score.

For good all-around measure, he also attempted a pass that fell incomplete.

He played with Washington for two seasons before serving a role on the Buffalo Bills practice squad in 2021. But he got his shot again this past season in Pittsburgh, catching 14 balls for 104 yards and rushing 13 times for 70 yards.

He also served as the Steelers' primary returner on special teams, returning 17 kicks for 434 yards and 19 punts for 105 yards.

With Sims, the Texans now add a versatile depth piece that can make an impact both as a receiver and returner.
