Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Week 12: How to Watch, Betting Odds
The Texans host the Jaguars on Sunday at NRG Stadium with the AFC South division lead on the line. Jacksonville leads the division at 7-3 while Houston is just one game back at 6-4.
Houston has won three in a row and six of eight after starting the season with two consecutive losses and has already notched a win over Jacksonville earlier in the year.
The Texans are riding the hot hand of No. 2 overall draft pick C.J. Stroud, who leads Houston's No. 4 overall offense, and No. 2 overall passing game. Stroud and Co. will face Jacksonville's No. 29 passing defense and No. 4 rushing defense.
First-year wideout Tank Dell set a franchise rookie record with 149 receiving yards last week, his third 100-yard game this season. He also has registered six touchdown catches, the most by a rookie in team history - with seven games remaining.
Stroud is second in the league with 2,962 passing yards and is just the second rookie in NFL history to have three consecutive 300-yard passing games. He threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns against Jacksonville in Week 3 but will need to improve on his three interceptions thrown last week in a 21-16 win over the Cardinals. The Jags currently lead the league with 20 takeaways.
Jaguars wideout Calvin Ridley hopes to have a better game than the Week 3 tilt against the Texans when he dropped three passes, including two in the end zone. He finished with just three catches for 40 yards. Ridley is coming off his best game as a Jaguar with two touchdowns and hopes to notch a second consecutive 100-yard day.
The Texans have won 10 of the last 11 matchups with Jacksonville's only win in that span coming in a Week 16 31-3 tilt last season. Houston has also won 21 of the last 26 against the Jags.
