Houston Texans Fall 30-6 to New York Jets, C.J. Stroud Leaves with Injury

The Houston Texans will try to avoid a major upset during a Week 14 contest against the New York Jets.

The Houston Texans (7-5) will continue their push toward the postseason during Sunday's Week 14 contest against the New York Jets (4-8) at MetLife Stadium. The Texans are a heavy favorite against the Jets. But despite the record, coach DeMeco Ryans understands that his team cannot overlook their opponent in New York.

“Proud of what they’ve done,” Ryans said. "They know we’re not where we can be. We know we can still play much better ball than we’ve shown over the past several weeks, and everybody is hungry to improve. And that’s what I love most about our team is the hunger to continue to get better.”

New York will revert to Zach Wilson, who the Jets benched in favor of Tim Boyle, following a horrific performance against the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 19.

However, the Jets replaced Boyle for Trevor Siemian during Sunday's 13-8 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The Jets won three games with Wilson starting under center. But since his benching, New York has dropped back-to-back games with Boyle and Siemian at the helm.

"With Zach, what jumps off to me is his athleticism, and his ability to improvise when things aren’t there," Ryans said. "We have to be aware of his athleticism and him being able to move, and we have to be able to make plays on him.

"But overall, not really about the quarterback or who’s at the quarterback position, but more so this week is just all about us and us being homed in on our assignments, our fundamentals, and playing as best as we can play."
