RUMOR: Arizona Cardinals Finalizing Trade Deal to Move Down in 2023 NFL Draft

The Tennessee Titans have been one of the teams linked to the Arizona Cardinals as a potential trade partner and according to a recent rumor a trade could be finalized, but is it with the Titans?

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans are one of the prime candidates to jump up in the draft for a quarterback and the most logical partner is the Arizona Cardinals. The Titans have been rumored to be in contact with the Cardinals all day examining what a deal would look like.

Well, according to Johnny Venerable of the “PHNX Cardinals Podcast,” the Cardinals have a deal finalized for a team to come up to the third pick. Problem is, we don’t know what team it is. Of course, it could be the Titans, but how would they know who Houston will take at pick two. Are they that confident they know who Houston will select that they are willing to lock in the deal now?

The tweet doesn’t say it explicitly, but it could be a deal based on what Houston does at two. For example, the Titans lock in a deal that is contingent on Houston not selecting a quarterback. However, if the tweet means the deal is truly done now and it will be addressed prior to the draft starting, then odds are it is not the Titans.

The logical answer would be the Houston Texans since they are the only ones who truly know who they will select at number two. Houston has a ton of draft capital as well from the Deshaun Watson trade. It could make sense for them to draft their quarterback and then come back up to get the defensive player of their choosing.

The craziness will only continue as we get closer to kicking off the NFL draft tonight, but no matter what, the Titans seem like they will be involved. Either they will be the team to make the move or be a team that missed out. There is always the chance their intertest was faint to begin with and they weren't as interested as it seemed.
