NASHVILLE - Earlier on Friday, I shared a report on Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud and his low score on the S2 Eval Test given by NFL teams to prospective draft picks.

If true, Stroud's low score is worthy of a red flag for NFL teams that believe in or use the S2 in their vetting and evaluation process.

However, what the reportedly low score suggests and what we see on film from Stroud indicate that something is wrong somewhere between the two.

When watching Stroud on tape, all the things the test is supposed to predict don't fall into place. His decisions making, quick reaction to what he's seeing, and other aspects needed by an NFL quarterback show up.

On Friday, NFL Network reporter Tom Peilissero shared an article about each quarterback available in the upcoming draft and the rounds in which they are projected to be taken.

Among the lengthy write-up of Stroud, this comment from, as the title of the article reads, pro execs, scouts, and coaches had this to say.

“The questions are going to be transitioning from that offense, because guys have had trouble (adjusting) from what they ask them to do (at Ohio State) to what we ask them to do in terms of setting protections and all that,” an NFC executive said. “He’s always had really good protection and he’s basically been driving a Cadillac -- he’s got [Jaxon Smith-Njigba], he’s got three first-round receivers, he’s got two first-round tackles. When he’s got space and time to throw, he carves people up and he’s ridiculous. When things have gotten tight -- when Michigan has gotten pressure on him, when he’s seen new stuff from Northwestern that they weren’t prepared for and the game gets tight -- he hasn’t played as free. And in fairness to [Stroud], he hasn’t been in that situation very often because they’ve been so good.”

Of all the things I've read evaluating Stroud, this might be the most accurate as to where he could struggle in the NFL.

While I'm not predicting how his career will unfold, Stroud, like almost every other player entering the NFL, has some holes in their game.

Stroud, like Alabama's Bryce Young, has been driving Cadillacs. Let's see how they do with a Prius.
