NASHVILLE - On Tuesday, Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano shared a story in which he took the top prospects from the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft and looked at which players fit best into which teams according to the schemes those teams utilize.

For the sake of not writing the equivalent of War And Peace,  Manzano took three prospects at each position, leaving out Alabama's tandem of quarterback Bryce Young, and pass rusher Will Anderson, because, according to the article, he would fit any scheme.

How did the Tennessee Titans fare for the top players that would fit their scheme?

The Titans earned two scheme fits from this work. The first is one who has been frequently mocked to the Titans already is Northwestern guard/tackle Peter Skoronski.

Best scheme fit: Titans. This might be more about team needs than scheme fit. With Skoronski capable of playing tackle and guard, he could help the rebuilding Titans in multiple areas after they released left tackle Taylor Lewan and lost guard Nate Davis to the Bears in free agency. Skoronski’s versatility, footwork and power has him atop most draft experts’ big boards.

The second is a local product; though not considered a first-round talent, he's from the University of Tennessee; linebacker Jeremy Banks according to Manzano, fits the Titans defensive scheme.

Best scheme fit: Titans. Banks might not be a top draft prospect, but he caught the eye of NFL Media’s Nick Shook in Indianapolis, who mentioned the ’backer on his 2023 All-Combine Team. Banks recorded more than 100 tackles last season, becoming the first Tennessee player since ’15 to reach that milestone. Perhaps coach Mike Vrabel keeps the combine gem in Tennessee.

Of the seven categories, and 21 players on the list, the Titans are fits for two of these players, per the article. While there are likely more that would fit with the Titans, everything has to have its limits, and it's nice to see the Titans included in this list.
