GameDay Prediction: Can the Titans Finally Win a Game Away from Home?

The Tennessee Titans haven't been very good away from home, but they're in Tampa on Sunday to take on the Buccaneers and they've got a shot at winning despite being a modest underdog. Here's my gameday prediction.

TAMPA, Fla. — The Tennessee Titans have ventured out of Nashville five times so far this season, and all five times they've brought back a loss. They 3-0 at home and 0-5 on the road.

This Sunday, though, it's another road game for the boys in blue — the dark blue from head to toe, by the way — when they travel south for the first of three Florida road games in the next month. This time it's the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium.

As we mentioned earlier today, the 3-5 Titans are underdogs once again, for the eighth time in nine tries. The Buccaneers, who are also 3-5 so far, are favored by 2.5 points, and the over/under is 38.5.

I am well aware of the Titans' struggles on the road, because I've been there in person for all but the London loss to the Baltimore Ravens. They've been really close to winning a few times — New Orleans comes to mind in Week 1, and they really should have won their last outing at Pittsburgh — but they haven't been able to get over the hump.

Today, though, it's going to happen.

I'm picking the Titans to pull out a win today. Will Levis is getting his third start, and the rookie quarterback out of Kentucky has done some good things. He had four touchdown passes in his debut, a win over the Atlanta Falcons, and he found standout wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins for scores three times.

I see more of that happening on Sunday. The Bucs have lost four games in a row and their secondary is a little banged up. I can see the Bucs moving the ball against them. There are also no weather issues here today. It's beautiful, a sunny day with 86 degree weather.

I'm taking the Titans, 24-20. (And yes, that's a hint on the over. ) The Titans' secondary is banged up, too. And even though both teams are 6-2 going under the total, I think we'll see a few more points today.
