Another Potential Quarterback Trade For The Titans?
NASHVILLE - Once the poster child for how you would want to run an NFL franchise, the mighty New England Patriots seem to be falling apart.
Two years after drafting Mac Jones with the No.15 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, rumors began on Tuesday that Patriots coach Bill Belichick has shopped his starting quarterback to multiple teams around the league.
Jones burst into the league as a rookie, throwing for 3,081 yards and 22 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions while completing 67.6% of his passes that season in leading his team to the playoffs.
However, year two wasn't as successful, and Belichick, also rumored to also be at odds with team owner Robert Kraft, took issue with one of Jones' actions last season.
Per reports, with a former defensive coordinator, Matt Patricia working as the Patriots offensive coordinator and former defensive line coach, Joe Judge as his quarterback coach, Jones allegedly became upset and reached out to the college staff at Alabama for advice on how to handle the offensive situation in New England, thus angering Belichick.
Shortly after the rumors of Jones being shopped became public, the Titans became one of the teams that should enquire about Jones, given the connection between Belichick and Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel.
As of Wednesday, there have been multiple social media comments o both sides, some refuting the rumor that the quarterback has been "shopped," while others stand by their stories that he has been offered to other teams.
Not every rumor is true, but when some of the biggest insiders of the league are sharing it, there's a good chance it is true.
So what about Jones to the Titans?
He's young, healthy, and has starting experience in the league. While it might not happen, and the rumors could be nothing more than rumors,
it's at least with a phone call from Vrabel to his old head coach to assess the situation and perhaps find a deal for the quarterback this team is looking for as their future quarterback.
