NASHVILLE — Cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting will not return to the Tennessee Titans, according to multiple reports.

NFL Network was the first to report that Murphy-Bunting agreed to a contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

Murphy-Bunting was a starting corner for a Titans unit that was 26th in pass coverage last season. His Pro Football Focus (PFF) coverage grade was 57.6, which placed him 90th out of 127 NFL cornerbacks. In 2022, while playing for the Bucs, he earned a grade of 71.8, good for 26th out of 118 corners.

Terms of the contract haven't been confirmed. Murphy-Bunting's departure means the Titans will need to find another starting boundary corner to accompany Roger  McCreary in free agency or the draft.

Murphy-Bunting tied a career-high with 10 passes defended, intercepted two passes, and forced two fumbles last season. He played 800 defensive snaps for the second time in his career despite missing three games due to injuries. Additionally, he set a career-high in tackles.

Murphy-Bunting spent his first four seasons in Tampa after the Buccaneers made him a second-round pick in 2019. He was on a one-year, $5 million deal last season.

The Titans are reported to have agreements with center Lloyd Cushenberry and running back Tony Pollard.
