Tennessee Titans Best QB Options if Will Levis Injury Persists
The Tennessee Titans saw a few concerning injuries during their two joint practices with the Minnesota Vikings. On Wednesday, Treylon Burks was injured and it turned out to be not as bad as it looked, but on Thursday rookie quarterback Will Levis left practice early and his status going forward is unknown at this time.
While Levis' injury could be nothing and he makes an appearance on Saturday during the Titans' second preseason, there is also the chance it is something that could last a while, whether that be a few weeks or longer.
If it turns out Levis' injury is something that isn't day-to-day, the Titans may look at adding another quarterback. Not for competitive purposes obviously, but they will simply need another quarterback to run the third-team offense. "Camp arm" is a term used for a quarterback who can take practice reps, but that doesn't have a great shot at making the roster. That is what the Titans would need.
Here are some options to fit that bill.
Chris Streveler
Streveler just spent time with the New York Jets, but was released recently. Streveler has played in nine games in three seasons in the NFL. His first two seasons came with the Cardinals in Arizona followed by last season with the Jets. Streveler has a strong arm and a sturdy frame and could give the Titans good snaps until Levis returns.
Bryce Perkins
If the Titans want someone who can sort of mirror Malik Willis' skillset, Perkins could make a lot of sense. The mobile Perkins has great size at 6-foot-3. He recently played for the Los Angeles Rams. Perkins spent all three of his seasons in the NFL since he went undrafted in 2020 in Los Angeles. He could be reasonable fit in Nashville for a few weeks.
Nick Foles
If you want someone who can give you some Tannehill-esque play and that won't take long to pick up the playbook, Foles is the guy. He is a pro that would come in and just do his job, knowing it may be a shot to get back in the league this year. Foles also may have some insight on the Jacksonville Jaguars' offense after playing for their head coach Doug Pederson multiple years in his career, including winning the Super Bowl together.
Tom Brady
Mike Vrabel may want to give his buddy a call to throw a few passes — just kidding.
The Titans may have dodged another bullet like they did with Burks and Levis could be available for Saturday's game, but if not, these are some options that could come in and throw some passes for a week or two.
