The Tennessee Titans may have set their first 53-man roster of the year on Tuesday, but that doesn't mean they are done crafting their group prior to the regular season kickoff against the New Orleans Saints. That point was proven on Wednesday when the Titans claimed defensive back Kindle Vildor off of waivers.

Vildor was a fifth-round pick out of Georgia Southern in the 2020 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears and spent the last three seasons in the Windy City. During that time Vildor played in 44 games, making 11 starts. Vildor has put up 97 tackles, 10 passes defended and one interception in that span.

Vildor is an outside cornerback from a schematic standpoint. He has spent the majority of his career as a boundary cornerback and has had only limited experience in the slot. That works fine for the Titans who need more depth on the outside after keeping Anthony Kendall on the roster and bringing back slot corners Armani Marsh and Eric Garror on the practice squad, reportedly.

It isn't just defense, we know the Titans highly value special teams and Vildor has played a career 255 snaps in that phase. He offers the versatility required to be a part of the backend of this roster.

The real question is what roster move needs to happen to make room for Vildor. The Titans must make a corresponding move to stay at 53 players.

The logical options we could see include putting injured receiver Kyle Philips on injured reserve. We could also see one of the bubble players who made the roster be jettisoned like Caleb Murphy, Anthony Kendall, Otis Reese Jr. or Kearis Jackson.

What the Titans do to make room for Vildor remains to be seen, but what matters is he will be on this roster for the time being. All players who were waived on Tuesday by any NFL team are now eligible free agents. More additions could be coming.
