Tennessee Titans Rookie QB Will Levis Gets Advice From Tom Brady
NASHVILLE — Tennessee Titans rookie passer Will Levis is attended an NFLPA event over the weekend, but before attending, Levis and other rookie quarterbacks took a detour to get some advice from the greatest player of all time, Tom Brady.
The conversation, orchestrated by Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin, was meant to be a discussion on how to build your brand as a player and be a business man, but of course Brady was going to drop some wisdom about preparation. It is Tom Brady after all. This is what Brady told the group.
"Going in the second round," Brady said as he looked at Levis, "in the end, that's really not that big of deal. Going first overall, in the end, it's not a big deal. It's great. You got an opportunity, you're probably going to be paid more than anyone for a time period, but I was drafted 199 and I just outlasted everybody."
This is key for Levis. Levis can't dwell on where he was drafted and the disappointment of the first round passing without his name being called. What matters now is how Levis performs on the field and as we see with Brady, sometimes being drafted later only adds to your legacy.
Brady went on to talk about his motivations and keeping himself pushing even after success.
"There's another me back there," Brady explained. "Right? So, how do I keep my edge on everybody? I had to keep working. I didn't go, 'Hey, I'm good, right? I won three super bowls I'm good."
There is no better player in the history of sport to talk about motivation or staying motivated despite success than Tom Brady. While a simple conversation won't ensure success for Levis, getting advice from the GOAT can't hurt.
Hopefully, Levis is able to take this lesson and use it as fuel. The Titans begin their full-team summer workouts this week and if Levis hopes to play his best, and maybe even start for the Titans this year, he will need all the help and advice he can get.
