NASHVILLE - Now that the Tennessee Titans rookie draft class and undrafted free agents have had an opportunity to step onto the practice field for three days of work with their fellow rookies, it's time to look into three of the potential storylines for this young group of Titans.

While first-round pick Peter Skoronski and second-round pick Will Levis will draw attention throughout the coming mini and training camps heading into the 2023 season, there are four other draft picks and some attractive undrafted free agents looking to make their mark for this team.

What are the three biggest storylines for this rookie class as we approach the 2023 season?

Here are the three we will be closely following.

Jaelyn Duncan's Role

The massive former Terrapin, Duncan (6-foot-6, 306 pounds, though he looks heavier in person) spent the day Saturday working almost exclusively at left tackle, with Skoronski at left guard. Duncan will have his chance to battle Andre Dillard, or perhaps Skoronski, and others for that position.

While it's widely considered that Duncan will become the swing tackle this season, based on how he battled during the rookie minicamp, he has his eyes set on a higher prize. It will be interesting to see if he can keep it up and push for a starting position. There's also the possibility that he could compete with Nicholas Petite-Frere for the starting right tackle spot.

Colton Dowell's Progress

Dowell, a Lebanon, Tn. native had good and bad moments on Saturday, but he showed why the Titans were willing to take him in the draft's final round.

Since the Titans need more help at receiver,  Dowell has the chance to compete for a place on the 53-man roster entering the season. It's up to him to take that role, and based on his demeanor, and the way he worked during this minicamp, he is very likely to push the back portion of the current roster for a place among them in week one.

Josh Whyle's Development

At 6-foot-7, Whyle is a good-looking physical specimen with good hands and solid speed. While he admitted on Saturday that he has work to do as a blocker, what we witnessed from him on the field during the minicamp is undeniable.

Whyle has the tools to add another weapon to offensive coordinator Tim Kelly's offense this season down the middle of the field. How he handles the coaching and how much he can absorb and grow are intriguing and worth continuing to track as we move closer to the season.

Of course, the progress of Levis will be watched and dissected daily, which is why he is not among the three storylines I'll be tracking in the coming months, though I will also be paying attention here too.

As training camp begins, there could be other rookies who step into more prominent roles, and perhaps some of the undrafted players will start to push for their place as well, but until then, these are the three we'll track heading into training camp.
