Titans Coaching Search: Dallas Cowboys' Dan Quinn Expected to Interview Wednesday
Dan Quinn, a longtime defensive coordinator and head coach with seven NFL teams, is scheduled to interview for the Tennessee Titans head coaching position on Wednesday.
Despite his defense allowing 400 yards in the Cowboys' 48-32 upset loss to the Packers, Quinn is a candidate for several jobs.
The Titans, Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Chargers reportedly have asked to interview Quinn, 53.
The interview with the Titans will be virtual — an NFL requirement until Jan. 22.
Quinn served as the Falcons' coach from 2015 to 2020, leading the team to the 2016 Super Bowl. The Falcons famously surrendered a 28-3 lead and lost to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in overtime.
Quinn started his NFL career in 2001 with the 49ers as a defensive quality control coach. He worked in the same role with the Dolphins, Jets, and Seahawks before 2013, when he was promoted to defensive coordinator on Pete Carroll's staff.
The Titans so far have interviewed four candidates: Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, Las Vegas Raiders interim coach Antonio Pierce, and Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike MacDonald.
The Titans have requested interviews with at least four other coaches besides Quinn: the Detroit Lions' Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson, the Houston Texans' Bobby Slowik, and the Philadelphia Eagles' Brian Johnson.
