Titans Request Second, In-Person Coaching Interview With Bengals' Brian Callahan

According to reports, Tennessee Titans leadership has requested a follow-up, in-person interview with Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, one of 10 NFL coaching candidates to replace Mike Vrabel.

NASHVILLE— Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan will get a second interview with Tennessee Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk and general manager Ran Carthon, according to ESPN reporter Dan Graziano.

Callahan had a virtual interview last week with Titans leadership. A follow-up interview would seem tom indicate that the initial conversation went well.

NFL rules mandate that teams wait until Jan. 22 to conduct in-person interviews.

The Titans have a virtual conversation this week with Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. The Titans also have interviewed Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, Las Vegas Raiders interim coach Antonio Pierce, and Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike MacDonald.

The Titans also have requested to interview Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson from the Detroit Lions, Bobby Slowik from the Houston Texans, Brian Johnson from the Philadelphia Eagles, and Thomas Brown, the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers.

Callahan is the son of former NFL head coach Bill Callahan. He has established a great reputation in the NFL for his ability to develop quarterbacks. Callahan joined the coaching staff of the Bengals at the beginning of the 2019 season. He is widely credited with contributing to the development of quarterback Joe Burrow.
