NASHVILLE — We have made it to schedule release day, folks. The Titans will soon know their full regular season schedule for 2023 including every team they player, when they play them and if the game has any special timing to it. Here are some matchups that would be interesting as primetime games.

Thursday Night Football — @ Miami Dolphins

One thing to think about throughout this article is what the NFL wants. We can talk about ideal Titans' matchups all we want, but we have to be realistic about the pairings the NFL would put on television.

Miami on Thursday night checks that box. The Titans aren't a popular franchise nationally, but the Dolphins are. Not to mention the Dolphins are a team in a similar place as the Titans. They are good, but not one of the elite teams in the NFL. This game would be a contrast between offensive firepower and defensive force.  It would make for good television.

Sunday Night Football - v Cincinnati Bengals

You could hear Titans' fans shriek in terror when they just read the Bengals. Yes, I am aware the Bengals currently own the Titans, but the NFL doesn't care who wins that game. What they care about is there is a semi-rivalry between the two teams stemming from their persistent battles over the last three seasons.

This matchup will have some pop because America LOVES the Bengals. The Titans always give a competitive effort as well, so the league can trust it will be an entertaining game. The ghosts of that 2021 playoff loss will make for good narrative.

Monday Night Football - v Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are an exciting football team to watch. Not only that, but when they play the Titans something crazy always happens. We saw the exciting two-point conversion to end the game in 2018. In 2019, Jeffery Simmons announced his presence with a game-winning stop at the goal line. What fireworks will we get this year?

With the excitement of previous games and both teams contending for the playoffs, this could be a fun primetime matchup that highlights Justin Herbert against this typically-porous Titans' pass defense. Also, Derrick Henry gets to go against a run defense that could use some improvement. Seems like a win-win.
