Top 3 Titans on Offense with "Most Pressure" at Summer OTAs

The Tennessee Titans have moved past the primary player acquisition phases of the 2023 offseason and now move into the early summer camp window that includes organized team activities and mandatory mini-camp. These three players on offense have the most pressure going into the summer.

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans' offense as a whole has a ton of questions facing it, but zoom in to individual situations and you can see quickly why this summer and training camp will be incredibly important for not only the unit, but for some young players as well.

Malik Willis, Quarterback

The clock is ticking for Malik Willis. Just a year ago there was optimism that Willis could be the Titans' quarterback of the future. Willis struggled on the field, not only with his throws and decisions, but also with the operational tasks of aligning the formation correctly, reading the defense and staying on schedule with play timing.

Enter Will Levis. When the Titans drafted Levis in the second round, it was basically the end of Willis time with the Titans. However, there is a way for Willis to hold on. He needs to show major improvement during the coming summer activities and it is possible he could potentially be a backup to Levis if Levis beats out Ryan Tannehill for the starting job and Tannehill goes to another team.

The more likely outcome is Willis is cut from the Titans when rosters are trimmed down before the regular season. Willis needs a good showing in the summer so that he ensures another opportunity with another team.

Treylon Burks, Wide Receiver

Treylon Burks was given the unfortunate burden of being the guy who replaced AJ Brown. Whether that is fair or not doesn't matter because it is a reality of his situation. With that in mind, Burks will be expected to make a major leap this year.

Not only that, but Burks got off to a shaky start at this time last year. Burks had conditioning issues and was in and out of practices. It drew a lot of ire Burks' way. It will be important for Burks to come out strong to erase those bad memories, but also show he is capable of being a WR1 in the NFL as he was drafted to be.

Aaron Brewer, Center

It might not be Brewer's fault, but last year at left guard did not go well for Brewer. Brewer gave up four sacks and 36 pressures. He routinely was too small to deal with the size and power of some of the NFL's interior defensive linemen. Clearly, guard is not a long-term spot for Brewer.

This year he gets to go to the center spot which is a more natural fit for a small lineman like Brewer. He will need to have his best season to date if he ever wants to get a chance to be a starter in Tennessee, and maybe the NFL, ever again.
