Tyreek Hill Ranks Titans Derrick Henry As A Top 5 All-Time NFL Running Back
NASHVILLE - Tyreek Hill has been the fastest man in the NFL since entering the league in 2016 as a fifth-round selection of the Kansas City Chiefs out of West Alabama.
A wide receiver, Hill helped the Chiefs to a Super Bowl title in 2019 and has been a four-time first-team All-Pro, so when he speaks, people pay attention.
Recently, Hill, on his podcast, "It Needed to be Said," made public his feelings on the NFL's all-time best running backs.
According to the man nicknamed "Cheeta," Adrian Peterson, who is currently an unsigned free agent in his effort to return to professional football, and current Tennessee Titans superstar Derrick Henry are the best to carry the football in the NFL.
After his top two, Hill had Barry Sanders, Gale Sayers, and Eric Dickerson to round out his top-five all-time greatest.
Of course, this is one man's opinion, and his comment immediately drew reactions from other players, fans, and media who disagree with his contentions.
Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Bijon Robinson, a guest on Hill's podcast, also shared his rankings, which seemed to align more with conventional wisdom.
Per Robinson, Sanders, LaDainian Tomlinson, Marshall Faulk, Peterson, and Walter Payton encompassed his top-five.
Henry acknowledged Hill's comment in a social media post.
While Henry is on pace for a Hall of Fame career, including being one of just eight backs ever to surpass the 2,000-yard mark in a single season, having him in the top five at this point might be a little ambitious on the part of Hill.
However, he is entitled to his opinion since ranking players as all-time greats across different decades is subjective. Hill did not mention any specific criteria he used to make his choices.
Still, when all is said and done, Henry is very likely headed to Canton, and depending on what he does in 2023 and beyond, his stats could undoubtedly grow along with the legend he has become.
