Pittsburgh Penguins right wing Pascal Dupuis was taken off the ice on a stretcher in the second period of Thursday’s game against the Dallas Stars. 

Dupuis was shoved by Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski while in front of the Dallas net and was then struck in the back of the head by a shot from Penguins blueliner Kris Letang at 12:54 of the period.

While leaving the ice, Dupuis, who has one goal and three assists in the season so far, gave fans at Consol Energy Center an encouraging sign:
