Brighton and Palace now in race to sign in demand Sunderland star
More Premier League sides have joined the race to sign Jack Clarke, as per the latest reports coming out.
Clarke cannot keep out of headlines at the moment. But it's for all the right reasons with the Sunderland man bang in form in the Championship.
He's already scored seven in 11 league appearances this season, and with the January transfer window quickly approaching, news of his potential departure is arising once again.
TEAMtalk have reported today that Brighton and Crystal Palace have both been tracking Clarke since last season and that both are ready to test Sunderland's resolve in January.
It's also said that Burnley and Brentford remain keen, and that Wolves and Bournemouth are also interested, but that Brighton and Palace remain the front-runners as it stands.
Interestingly, TEAMtalk's report also adds that Spurs could be due as much as 50% of any future sale following Clarke's permanent move from North London to Sunderland last year, with the Black Cats wanting as much as £20million.
The race for Clarke...
Links to Brentford ad Burnley may have been interesting to Clarke. But links to Brighton are a huge credit to him and that could be a really exciting potential move for him.
Brighton are doing amazingly well in the Premier League and their recruitment is top notch, so the fact that they've identified Clarke is a credit to him.
As for Sunderland, it's starting to look more and more likely that they'll have to part ways with Clarke in January.
They perhaps did well to keep him past the summer and with his performances having been good this season, it's inevitably leading to more January speculation.
