Former Liverpool star urges Jobe Bellingham to stay at Sunderland
Steve McManaman has urged Jobe Bellingham to resist any interest from European mega clubs, especially now Michael Beale is at Sunderland.
Jobe has been a revelation for Sunderland since moving from Birmingham in the summer, featuring in almost all of the club’s Championship matches and impressing.
That has seen the 18-year-old linked with a plethora of top clubs in recent weeks, including Real Madrid, who are keen to unite him with brother Jude Bellingham now before a top English club pick him up and put him out of their reach.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United have all been linked to Jobe as well. However, former Liverpool and Real Madrid star McManaman believes Jobe should bide his time, and his belief has been strengthened by the fact he will now be working with Michael Beale.
Speaking to Betfred, McManaman said: “Jobe’s doing okay. He’s at Sunderland and he’ll keep on improving there, especially under Michael Beale. Michael will teach Jobe the right things.
“I don’t think Liverpool will be interested in him yet because they don’t need to be interested in him. Teams like Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal, who can afford these players, don’t need to take them whilst they’re still so young.
“The most important thing for him at the moment is to play 90 minutes almost every single week, if he can, and if he were to move to one of the big clubs, he wouldn’t have that opportunity, so I don’t see the point of him moving yet until he becomes more of the finished article.”
