This year’s 110th Grey Cup was one of the more memorable games in recent years and it showed in the television ratings in Canada.

Justin Dunk reported that the total television viewership numbers for the Grey Cup between the Montreal Alouettes and Winnipeg Blue Bombers finished at 3,576,500. The game was broadcasted on TSN and RDS with 2,823,900 and 752,600 viewers, respectively.

It was only available view streaming in the USA on CFL+.

This was the highest rating for the Grey Cup since 2019 when the Hamilton Tiger-Cats played Winnipeg with 3,682,600 watching. This year was a 14.5%  year-over-year increase for the game's average TV numbers.

The publication also reported that the TSN pregame show averaged 191,600 viewers per hour over the five-hour telecast. TSN’s Countdown to Kickoff show did well bringing in an average of 1,631,000 viewers during the 35-minute show. The TSN post-game show received 604,800 viewers in its 24-minute coverage with interviews and a trophy presentation.

In the last five Grey Cups, the ratings have been less than four million viewers. Between 2009-17, the title game averaged 4.74 million viewers. It only fell under four million once in that stretch in 2016.

The close game and exciting finish likely kept fans locked into the Grey Cup longer. It was the first Grey Cup win for Montreal since 2010.
