A familiar voice is returning to the booth to call Alabama football games.

Eli Gold will announce Alabama football games this fall after the legendary announcer Jim Ross broke the news on his Twitter.

Gold has been a part of the Crimson Tide Sports Network since 1988, but he missed last season due to a treatable form of cancer. It was the first season Gold missed in his entire career.

Chris Stewart filled in for Gold during the 2022 football season which saw Alabama win the Sugar Bowl against Kansas State. During his time away, Gold still occasionally called in for updates.

In addition to calling Alabama football and basketball games, Gold has also called NASCAR events, ice hockey and arena football, being dubbed TNN's "voice" of the Arena Football league in the early 2000s.

Gold spent time calling National Football League games as a member of the SportsUSA Radio’s Network coverage.

Crimson Tide fans will be happy to hear Eli Gold's voice come this fall.
