No. 13 Alabama Softball was looking to do something on Sunday it hasn't done all season — sweep a series.

The Crimson Tide (26-11, 4-5 SEC) led 3-0 early, but allowed 11 unanswered runs in its 11-3 run-rule loss to the Missouri Tigers on Sunday afternoon at Mizzou Softball Stadium in Columbia, Mo.

The Tigers (22-16, 2-10 SEC) came into Sunday as the SEC's worst team — but didn't look it.

Ally Shipman and Ashley Prange both homered in the early stages of Sunday's contest. After that, it was a quiet output.

The same can not be said about Missouri. The Tigers took advantage of Montana Fouts' absence, putting double-digit runs on a trio of Alex Salter, Jaala Torrence and Lauren Esman.

It wasn't a clean defensive game for either side. Both Alabama and Missouri committed two errors.

The Crimson Tide couldn't make it past the fifth inning — losing in run-rule fashion for the first time in 2023.
