The Extra Point: How Can Alabama Baseball Build Momentum?
This baseball season has been one of ups and downs for Alabama baseball.
After a hot start against notably not-so-great competition, the Crimson Tide and head coach Brad Bohannon have hit somewhat of a wall now that SEC play is in full swing.
Alabama currently sits at 4-8 in the conference, still having not won a conference series but winning at least one game every weekend. Most recently, the Crimson Tide suffered one of its lowest points of the season, losing its series at home to SEC bottom-dweller Mississippi State.
Bohannon's squad responded, though, continuing its hot streak in midweek games with a 13-0 victory over an undeniably good Southern Miss team.
After a game that saw the Crimson Tide rack up 13 hits, confidence for the batters is sure to be high. That confidence needs to carry over into this weekend's series against Auburn, a team that shares Alabama's 4-8 mark in league play.
If the Crimson Tide can ride high on its confidence hitting the ball and pull off a series win at home this weekend, things could potentially take a turn for this team.
Check out the video at the top of the page where BamaCentral's Blake Byler and Joey Blackwell discuss what the Crimson Tide baseball team needs to do to build off the momentum gained in the win over Southern Miss.
