It was only a matter of time for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide to begin climbing the national recruiting rankings with the 2024 class.

Alabama began the week ranked in the high-twenties, but Saturday night saw the Tide add its fourth commitment this week in Carrollton, Ga., tight end Caleb Odom currently giving Saban the No. 5 overall class.

Odom is a four-star prospect, standing 6-5, 215 pounds and is considered the No. 4 tight end in the 2024 class according the 247Sports Composite.

The Georgian chose Alabama over Ole Miss, Miami, Texas A&M and Florida. He was in Tuscaloosa in March for the Tide's Junior Day event, where he was initially offered a scholarship and returned in early June for an official visit.

Odom transferred to Carrollton last season and helped the Trojans advance all the way to the 7A state championship thanks to hauling in 63 passes for 1,121 yards and 13 TDs.

He becomes Alabama's first tight end in the 2024 class and gives the Tide 14 total commitments. The Crimson Tide utilized Joe Cox and Robert Gillespie as his primary recruiters.

The outstanding athlete is also a talented basketball player and reported a dual-sport scholarship offer to LSU in April.

Odom is the second Carrollton Trojan to commit to the Crimson Tide in the last week after teammate and class of 2026 offensive lineman Zykie Helton made that choice on Sunday.

The Trojans are led by class of 2026 quarterback Julian Lewis who is also being heavily recruited by Alabama.
