Alabama Adds Tenth Prospect to 2024 Class in Four-Star Florida Cornerback
Alabama football received great news on Saturday as the Crimson Tide added the tenth member to its 2024 class.
2024 four-star cornerback Jameer Grimsley took to Instagram Live on Saturday and announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide. Grimsley chose Alabama over Florida and Michigan.
The 6-foot-2, 185 pound corner is considered the No. 19 corner in the 2024 class after playing both corner and wide receiver for Bloomingdale High School.
"I feel like I'm going to be that guy. But hey, I'm going to go in there and work and I appreciate all the support, everybody that came," said Grimsley at his commitment. "Everybody that recruited me, but I feel like this is the best situation for me and my family to accomplish my dreams, which is to go to the NFL and I think Alabama is the best choice for me. With that being said, roll tide!"
Alabama offered the Tampa-native a scholarship in February of 2023 and he was able to make it to Tuscaloosa for an official visit in June. The Tide has two of its best recruiters pursuing him in cornerbacks coach Travaris Robinson and receivers coach Holmon Wiggins.
Grimsley possesses top level high school speed, running a 10.84 100-meter dash and a 21.79 200-meter dash as a junior in high school.
He's transferred to Tampa Catholic High School for his senior year and will look to lead the Crusaders to a state championship run.
He joins Jaylen Mbakwe as the only two cornerbacks in the 2024 class and joined Isaia Faga as the second prospect to commit to the Tide this week.
Alabama will look to keep the momentum going as a big weekend continues.
