Five-Star Edge Rusher Commits to Auburn Tigers
Demarcus Riddick committed to the Georgia Bulldogs in November of 2022 becoming Kirby Smart's first five-star in the the 2024 class. Despite his commitment, the edge rusher knew something wasn't quite right.
On Wednesday in McKee Auditorium at Chilton County High School the state of Alabama's No. 3-overall player flipped his commitment to the Auburn Tigers, giving Hugh Freeze his first 5-star in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
"I was going to choose Bama, but at the same time, I didn't really have that feeling with them so I made the right choice. I'm going to stay home," Riddick told the audience as he put on the Auburn hat.
As a junior for the Chilton County Tigers he amassed 102 tackles, seven sacks, three interceptions, two fumbles recovered and one caused fumble.
His commitment gives the Auburn Tigers the No. 27-recruiting class and is currently good for No. 10 in the Southeastern Conference.
Hugh Freeze offered Riddick a scholarship in March of 2022, and he's taken four visits to Auburn in the calendar year.
The Crimson Tide is not left empty handed as five-star edge rusher Eddrick Houston out of Buford High School remains uncommitted and interested in Alabama. Houston is rumored to be attending the Crimson Tide Cookout at the end of July, giving Nick Saban plenty of time to bolster his No. 5-overall class.
