Razorbacks-TCU Game Postponed Due to Weather

As events kept changing, it ended up being a long Saturday of constantly waiting
In this story:

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The bottom line result of a day trying to figure out the constantly changing weather was Arkansas' 8 p.m. game against TCU has been delayed until Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.

The Arizona-Santa Clara elimination game started at 8:06 p.m. Saturday night so things wouldn't be further complicated. The loser of tomorrow's Hogs-Horned Frogs matchup will play whoever wins the game Saturday night. All of that will set up a Monday where possibly two games could be played, All of that depends on how games tomorrow and Monday play out.

It was a long day Saturday with a consistent wait of what might be happening and when. Nobody knew although the people talking with the NCAA spent most of the afternoon walking around looking at their phone, huddling with the UA's facilities personnel and trying to guess what might happen.

The gates at Baum-Walker Stadium opened briefly at 3 p.m. before closing again for several hours because of lightning strikes in the area. It was expected the weather would clear up as the night progressed and that's exactly what happened.

Around 5:30 there was a flurry of activity because prospects were starting to improve, but stadium personnel weren't out removing the tarp.

What many will find interesting is they could have played the game before 2 p.m. because that's when the weather started changing in the Fayetteville area. Everything ended up in a tailspin and flurry of activity then.

Just hope the weather doesn't change because Friday there were more thunderstorms predicted Monday similar to the bad ones that put a lot of people throughout Northwest Arkansas and down to Fort Smith along the Oklahoma border without power for awhile. Those forecasts have changed and now there are mostly sunny skies in the forecast. for what could be a busy day.

Arizona and Santa Clara spent most of Saturday sitting around the Tyson Track center waiting to find out when they were going to play.
