Former Hogs Treylon Burks May Be Ready for Big Second Season

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Treylon Burks may now be ready to show off for the NFL what Arkansas fans saw for three seasons here. An ESPN report on breakout players by team included the recently-married Burks for Tennessee, where he struggled at times last season.

It's interesting to note, also, the reason he's shown so well during off-season workouts is being better-conditioned than last year. Playing and having success at that level takes more than what it does in college, even at the SEC level. He apparently isn't letting getting married distract him much, getting it wrapped up before the start of preseason camp in a couple of weeks.

"There's a different swagger with Burks, who reported to the facility with a noticeably leaner build. The 2022 first-round pick is playing at a different speed from his rookie season. Burks said the difference this season is he is in better shape, and the numerous plays he has made during OTAs/minicamp are evidence."

Burks does look in better shape in honeymoon pics on TMZ. He even chartered a small plane from somewhere in Arkansas back to Nashville for the start of workouts. That doesn't come cheap these days. Now the next big date he has to be back is when Titans' training camp opens July 25.

The former Razorback wide receiver  now has to get back and out of honeymoon mode. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is getting more comfortable looking for him in pass routes, something that usually takes time to develop.

Tennessee will play the first of three season preseason games Aug. 12 at Chicago, then open the season on road in New Orleans on Sept. 10. In his rookie season, Burks caught 33 passes for 444 yards and a touchdown. Titans fans are expecting more this year.
