Auburn basketball lands NWF transfer Chad Baker-Mazara
The Tigers have found their wing they've been looking for.
Chad Baker-Mazara, a 6-foot-7 wing from Northwest Florida University, has committed to Auburn, per his social media.
Baker-Mazara chose the Tigers over Kentucky and Texas A&M, among other schools. He averaged 15.2 points per game on 48.8% shooting from the floor while also shooting an impressive 46.9% from outside the arc. The southpaw also averaged 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 points per game.
Despite transferring in from NWF, Baker-Mazara also previously spent time at San Diego State and Duquesne. In his lone season at SDSU, Baker Mazara scored 6.4 points per contest on just 42.0% shooting - although he did shoot 39.3% from deep.
He averaged 9.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 24.4 minutes per game on 43.8% shooting in his freshman year with the Dukes (41.7% from three).
Auburn basketball was in the midst of finding their replacement for veteran guard Allen Flanigan who had just recently entered the transfer portal. Baker-Mazara is the third player the Tigers have landed through the portal, including Denver Jones (FIU) and Chaney Johnson (UAH).
