Vegas believes Auburn will beat the Alabama Crimson Tide in Neville Arena
It's an important night in Neville Arena as the Alabama Crimson Tide are coming to town.
Alabama won the first meeting between the two rivals as they beat Auburn 79-75 in Tuscaloosa, fighting off a strong comeback attempt by Bruce Pearl's team in the second half. The hectic environment in Coleman Coliseum made it tough for Auburn to get going in the first half. You can expect the environment to be even better in Neville Arena.
Las Vegas believes the Auburn Tigers will win this basketball game as the line currently sits at -5.5 in favor of the Tigers. In this game, Auburn needs Johni Broome and Jaylin Williams to play well. Alabama struggles to guard big men, so the guards need to force the ball down low to the big guys. If Broome and Williams both play well, Auburn will get the big win.
Coch Pearl had this to say about Denver Jones's offensive play of late and the Tiger's plan to stop Mark Sears, “Yes, his offensive productivity – making shots or putting the ball in his hands to make some plays – that makes us better," Pearl said. "But we’re not even in the conversation unless he’s starting. He and KD are going to be the primary covers on Sears. Sears is the leading scorer in the league. He has potential for the player of the year in the league. If we can hold Mark Sears down, our chances of winning are much better. Denver Jones and KD Johnson and our backcourt are going to have a lot to say about that."
Jones has been playing well of late, so if he can add double-digit points to the box score on top of Auburn's frontcourt playing well, the Tigers will split the season series with Alabama.
